JET was established in 1963 as a METI-designated inspection institution. Since then, JET has performed type tests on numerous electrical appliances. Today, JET offers safety and confidence to manufacturers, distributors, and consumers as an impartial third party institution that assesses the conformity of certain types of appliances based on the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law and performs certifications in accordance with international standards such as ISO/IEC Guide 65, ISO/IEC 17025 and 17020.
