JET obtains NRTL-recognition firstly in Asia for large-scale Power Conditioner, and starts certification services for UL 1741 Compliance(Aug.06. 2025)
On July 24, 2025 (U.S. time), Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories (JET) was officially recognized as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), and published by Federal Notice from the U.S. federal government. With this recognition, JET is now authorized to conduct certification services in accordance with the UL 1741 standard for power conditioners.
The NRTL program is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor and recognizes laboratories that are qualified to perform safety testing and certification based on Code of Federal Regulation 1910.7, “Definition and Requirement of Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory.” Currently, 22 organizations are accredited as NRTLs worldwide: 16 in the United States, 4 in Canada, 1 in Germany—and now, for the first time in Asia, JET.
As an NRTL, JET performs testing for large-scale power conditioners at its testing facility located in the Smart System Research Facility of the Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute, AIST (FREA). This facility was established under a project entrusted by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to enhance global certification infrastructure.
