Information for S-JET certificate holders:
Notice of the partial revision of the Interpretation (specification-based description) of the Ministerial Ordinance concerning the Technical Requirements for Electrical Appliances (Feb 16, 2015)

The revision of Interpretation (specification-based description) of the Technical Requirements of Electrical Appliances and Material Safety Act, hereinafter referred to as “Interpretation”, concerning the tracking resistance of power plugs was announced on January 16, 2015.

In line with it, S-JET certificate holders whose certified products are subject to this revision must have them tested on the change of the Technical Requirements in order that they may remain certified. Please apply for the Test on the change of the Technical Requirements and have the Testing completed by March 17, 2016 (by September 17, 2015 if the relevant product uses “residual current operated circuit breaker with plug pins”).
We are going to send the information on the change of the Technical Requirements to S-JET certificate holders separately.

As for applications on and after January 16, 2015, we are going to carry out testing according to the ”Interpretation” after the above revision. (Please be aware that the product must be modified if any nonconformity of it to the revised “Interpretation” is found in the testing.)
